James Gamez celebrates with his $500 check for winning the McDonald's Puck Shoot on Jan. 12 at the Treadwell Arena, during the Juneau-Douglas High School hockey games against Su Valley. Gamez was captain of the Bears hockey team last season and is taking his check to Flagstaff, Ariz., where he is a freshmen at Northern Arizona University.
