On Dec. 17, Coastal Helicopters, their employees and pilots, Coastal Fuel, Petro Marine Services and the Mendenhall Flying Lions Club again provided helicopter tours of the Christmas lights of the Mendenhall Valley. In the three-hour project, we were able to take more than 320 people up for a fantastic view of the lights.
We would like to thank the Juneau Radio Center and their DJs for their support in promoting this event. We appreciate the patience shown by those who stood in line to fly with us. We were told by many that it was worth the wait.
Special thanks also go out to the residents of the Mendenhall Valley for turning on their lights that night and to Santa Claus for his appearance.
Funds raised in this project were designated for the Children’s Tumor Foundation and the Lions’ sight projects.
The Mendenhall Flying Lions Club would also like to express our appreciation to Coastal Helicopters and their employees, Coastal Fuel and Petro Marine Services for their continuing support of the community.
