Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Police arrested a man, 32, for domestic violence criminal trespass, resisting arrest and interfering with an officer around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the Mendenhall Valley area. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
A man, 25, was arrested for domestic violence assault around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Douglas area. He was lodged at the state prison. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in this incident.
Police cited a woman 43, for failure to yield following a two-vehicle accident around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday near Mendenhall Loop Road and Kimberly Street. Her 1997 Dodge struck a 1994 Honda, driven by a man, 48. The Dodge sustained $1,500 damage while the Honda sustained $3,000. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
No one was cited after a 1999 Ford Explorer, driven by a woman, 58, lost control and skidded on the road. The skidding caused a four-vehicle accident around 1 p.m. Wednesday near the Egan outbound retaining wall. After the first vehicle skidded, a 2001 Ford Escape, driven by a woman, 38, struck the 1999 Explorer and a 1992 Explorer, driven by a woman, 23. A fourth vehicle, a 1986 Chevrolet, driven by a man 19, slid into the retaining wall. The 1999 Explorer was towed from the scene sustaining $3,000 in damage. The 1992 Explorer incurred $3,000 in damage, the Escape $1,500 and the Chevrolet $500.
Police responded around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday near Douglas Highway and Lawson Creek Road to the report of a five-vehicle accident involving the vehicles "all sliding into each other," police said. No one was injured.
Several other accidents occurred Wednesday during which no citations were issued and drivers exchanged information. These accidents were reported at 1:13 p.m. near Egan inbound and Vanderbilt Hill Road, 1:17 p.m. near Foster Avenue, 7:52 p.m. near North Douglas Highway and 11 p.m. near Glacier Highway.
