Bank donates to Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka
First National Bank of Alaska donated $10,000 to the Annual Fund for Sheldon Jackson College. The gift is in addition to the bank's 2001 pledge of $105,000 to be paid over a three-year period.
Sheldon Jackson College's Annual Fund helps offset the operational costs for the school, which are not completely covered by tuition costs.
Fishermen's memorial accepting applications
The Alaska Commercial Fishermen's Memorial in Juneau is now accepting applications for engraving names of commercial fishermen and women on the Memorial. The Memorial must receive applications and full payment by April 1, 2003. Sealaska Institute taking applications
Sealaska Heritage Institute is now accepting scholarship applications for university or voc-tech students. Applications are available to Sealaska shareholders and descendants at www.sealaskaheritage.org or by calling 463-4844. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2003.
