North Twin Lakes Gates near its final repairs

Final repairs to the North Twin Lakes Gates will take place next week during the extreme low tides. Drainage will start on the North Lake on Saturday, Jan. 26. South Twin Lake will not be trained, but its level will be lowered two to four feet at the point where water stops draining into the North Lake. Weather permitting, the work will be completed by the end of next week, Feb. 1, 2002. The return of the lake to its full level will be weather-dependent. For more information, contact John Bohan, 586-0876.

Shelters will be available for rent from Friday, April 19, to Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002. Until Feb. 15, shelter reservations may only be made in person; no faxed or mailed requests will be accepted.
