Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
An $80 backpack containing a laptop computer valued at $2,200 was reported stolen at 10:30 p.m. Sunday on South Franklin Street downtown.
In an accident reported at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, a girl, 17, reported the vehicle she was driving was backed into by a vehicle driven by a man, 18, near Mendenhall Mall Road. Damage was estimated at $2,000 to $3,000.
Minor damage was reported to a 1995 Ford pickup involved in an accident at 9:03 p.m. Sunday in the 9100 block of Mendenhall Mall Road.
Police cited a woman, 56, on a charge of unsafe backing at 9:24 a.m. Monday on Second Street downtown after the 2001 Subaru she was driving reportedly struck a 2004 Volkswagen driven by a woman, 27.
Police impounded a vehicle at 8:04 p.m. Sunday after citing the driver, a man, 25, on a charge of driving without a valid license on Mendenhall Loop Road and Egan Drive.
Five Capital City Fire and Rescue units responded shortly after midnight Monday to false fire alarms at the State Office Building, Centennial Hall and the Prospector Hotel downtown. The alarms were triggered by a water surge from a broken water line at the State Office Building.
