In response to the rather ambiguous message about tennis: I'd like to say that, unambiguously, I support the Empire's coverage of tennis. I'd like to see a little bit less of the major team sports and a little bit more of World Cup skiing.

Your reviewer didn't see the same show I did. "Gypsy" is awesome. The cast is incredible and Karen Cross is brilliant. Don't miss it.

Right on to Bob Miller's letter in My Turn.

I just can't believe this Robert W. Miller and all of his petty partisan stuff. I really hope that the Democrats will cooperate with the Republicans. It's time to work together, to go forward and do the people's business.

It is very disheartening to hear about government property being destroyed. Are we electing children? Don't they realize we all pay when government or state property is destroyed? I think everyone involved should be prosecuted.

It seems John Ashcroft has an understanding of American history and of the Constitution and I hope he gets confirmed by the Senate.

The article on the front page regarding moose failed to mention anything about wolf control. Wolves kill several moose. In fact, Area 13 shut down early last season due to lack of moose. We need a good wolf control program.

I know Mark Farmer. I've seen the guy in action. He's smart, sometimes visionary, sometimes dead-wrong. At the very least, he's thinking and perhaps maybe outside of the box, but it's a lesson that we all need to listen to because if we're all mainstream, not a lot is going to get done.

To the caller who says Mark Farmer is out of the mainstream, what's your point? Anyone who lives in Alaska is, by definition, out of the mainstream. It doesn't mean we don't have good ideas or shouldn't try to solve problems. I'm grateful to Mark for all his hard work.

I'm Raven and I'm proud of being Raven and I'm saying "go Ravens" in the Super Bowl!

The Clintons accepted $190,000 worth of loot. When the Reagans retired from the White House their friends bought them a house for several million dollars.

How come Juneau Christian School was not included in the Role Call 2001 featured school sections schedule that's coming out?

It will be included in the special section that profiles alternative (non-public) schooling in the community. Thanks for asking; sorry we did not make that clear.

Word of Mouth used to be a lot of fun, but now you guys are just cowards. Word of Mouth was meant to rile people up and get people thinking. Now you have this dumb politically-correct version.

It's untrue when the airlines say they are losing money on the tickets that they are changing. You can never get your money back. They are the ones making money. As travelers, we should say, "no way."

Summer homework equates to the tyranny of overachievers.

A lot of bright children that can be positive members of our society have a learning disability that will impair their ability to pass the high school exit exams. We need to have alternate exams that are diverse for all students.

I cringe at the outcome of each election for Sealaska's board of directors. Maybe current members who don't have the required knowledge of high finance to run a corporation should step down.
