Sheila Nordale

Former Juneau resident Sheila Maureen "Berry" Nordale died suddenly on Jan. 23, 2009, in Seattle. She was 74.

Born Jan. 13, 1935, in Juneau, she lived and had countless friends in Juneau, Soldotna, Fairbanks and throughout Alaska and Washington.

First a joyful wife, mother and grandmother, she gloried also in her roles as daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, nurse and neighbor, her family said.

She is survived by her true love and husband of 51 years, James Nordale; children, Meg, Molly, Jim and Dan; children-in-law, Bob, Lisa and Misty; grandchildren, Josh, Seth, Mike, Stefani, Katie, Beth, Nick, Emmi, Sam, Hanna, Grace and Derek; siblings, Jim, Anne, Kathleen, John, Bridget and Kerry and their spouses and children; and sister-in-law, Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe; and nephew, Terry.

Services will be Friday, Jan. 30, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard, Wash. There will be a rosary at 9 a.m. and funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
