I'm sending this ``thank you'' letter through the Empire to acknowledge all those who helped put together the ``Post-Op-Bop'' at the Alaskan Bar on Sunday, Jan. 9. Thanks to Buzz Ritter, Bob Banghart and their volunteers for organizing. To C. Scott Fry from the Alaskan, thanks. To the artists and volunteers for great posters and their distribution around town, thanks. To the Empire for their coverage, thanks. Special thanks to all the musician friends-o-Tim for donating gear and making the music most enjoyable. And all you contributors. . .thank you.
...for sharing with seniors
Now that the holiday rush is over and Y2K is behind us I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the residents and activity staff at St. Ann's Care Center, to thank those in our community who helped make the holidays special. The true meaning of the holiday season was witnessed almost daily thanks to the efforts of St. Paul's Church, the Moose Lodge, Brownie and Daisy Troops 33, 39 and 9, Jack Marshall and Co., McDonald's, The Prospector's T.K. Maguires and the staff at St. Ann's. Many of our residents have no family close by to share the holidays, but through your selfless efforts, there was not a resident who was left out or felt alone at this time. Thank you all for taking the time, during the busiest time of the year, to share your hearts with those who truly need it.
