What used to be a female-dominated profession, nursing is being embraced by more men. Several aspects of the field are sought after by men, such as being able to help people on a personal level and job stability, says Karen Hart, a registered nurse and senior vice president of the health care division of Bernard Hodes Group. "Continuing the history of nursing, relatively few men are licensed as RNs, with a slight insignificant increase from 5.4 percent in 2000 to 5.7 percent in 2004," she says.
