ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage robbery suspect is under arrest after a group of citizens chased him and held him until officers arrived.

Police said Jerry Lee Douglas, 37, held up the downtown Lucky Grocery and Deli with a knife Friday and stabbed one of the initial pursuers. Police spokeswoman Anita Shell said Richard Zeigler, 53, received a minor nick to his abdomen when he was stabbed through his leather jacket. The knife also went through a wad of cash.

Several other witnesses caught up with Douglas and held him.

Police were called shortly after 12:30 p.m., the Anchorage Daily News reported on its Web site.

Douglas, who sustained minor cuts, is charged with robbery, attempted murder and assault.
