South Franklin Street upgrades approved

Posted: Tuesday, January 29, 2008

JUNEAU - The Assembly voted during its regular meeting Monday to transfer $183,000 into the South Franklin Street Capital Improvement Project.

The new money is added to previous funding to provide $238,000 in sidewalk and street resurfacing improvements.

City Manager Rod Swope said several of the ramps do not meet the current guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The project is to be completed in the spring and runs from Manila Square to Fourth Street.
