Coastal Helicopters hires marketing associate: Bea Findlay joined Coastal Helicopters as the sales-marketing associate. She moved to Juneau in 1982, living here 10 years and working in a variety of tourism related areas. After five years out of state, she returned, first to Sitka as the director of convention sales for the Sitka Convention and Visitors Bureau. Findlay left Sitka to become the director of tourism for Haines until earlier this month.

CPA firm hires three: Elgee, Rehfeld, Funk CPA's announced the hiring of three staff members. Karen Brewer has traveled extensively throughout Alaska providing auditing and accounting services to governmental and nonprofit clients. She has seven years' experience, two as a certified public accountant.



Gayle Starbard, an associate in the firm, has 20 years' experience in the accounting field, including work with legal, Native and nonprofit corporations. She most recently worked for the Juneau Economic Development Council.

Janet Schickling has taken the position of administrative assistant. She holds two associates' degrees and has 10 years' office experience.



Resource Data hires Khanam: Syeda Khanam was hired as a programmer-analyst at Resource Data, Inc. Khanam holds a master's degree and is fluent in a variety of computer languages. Khanam also has software development expertise in a half-dozen other programs.

USKH adds architect to Juneau office: Evelyn Rousso recently joined USKH as a project architect working primarily in the Juneau office. She earned a bachelor's degree in art history at Bryn Mawr College and a master's in architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. Her projects have included the Skagway Air Terminal, Alaska National Guard Armory in Juneau, and renovations at Valley Park School in Ketchikan.

Russi receives AHMA honor: Terri Russi with the GuestHouse Inn & Suites was named Member of the Year in the 150-rooms-or-less category by the Alaska Hotel & Motel Association. The association announced its annual stars-of-the-industry awards in 17 categories, most divided into the more-than-150-rooms and 150-rooms-or-less divisions. State winners go on to compete in a national awards program. Russi is the general manager of the 95-room hotel that opened last May 30 near the airport.
