Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Thefts, lost and found items:

About 1:15 p.m. Monday, a man, 46, reported the loss of his black Nokia cell phone valued at $100 on Front Street.

About 2:30 p.m. Monday, a boy, 17, was arrested for second-degree theft from Big Kmart. He was lodged at the McLaughlin Youth Center in Anchorage.

About 5:15 p.m. Monday, a man, 18, reported the theft of several pieces of stereo equipment from his vehicle parked overnight near Mendenhall Mall Road. The stolen equipment is valued at $440.

About 5:45 p.m. Monday, a black apron was found in the Juneau area and brought to the police department where it was placed into safekeeping.

Traffic stops:

About 8:30 p.m. Monday, a police officer stopped a vehicle at a Riverside Drive area parking lot. A woman, 19, was cited for driving without a valid license and then released. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.


Auke Bay firefighters responded about 8 p.m. Monday to the report of a possible house fire on Glacier Highway. They found the blaze was actually cardboard boxes being burned in the back yard of a residence. There were no damage or injuries. Flames reflected in window glass created an appearance of a house on fire.

Vehicle accidents:

Shortly after 7 a.m. Monday, police responded to a report of a one-car rollover accident at mile 22 Glacier Highway. A 1995 Land Rover was totaled. The driver, a woman, 31, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed. There were no injuries.
