The Juneau Pro-Choice Coalition will host the second annual Juneau showing of LunaFest from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. at Centennial Hall. Tickets are $10, available at the door or at Hearthside books.
Established by LUNA, the manufacturer of LUNA bars, in 2000, LunaFest is a film festival designed to "raise awareness for women's issues and support worthy women's nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada."
Juneau's festival will raise money to improve reproductive health care and education in Southeast Alaska and will donate 15 percent of the funds raised to the Breast Cancer Fund.
The 10 short films come from around the world and tackle a variety of women's issues. Rep. Beth Kerttula also will speak in order to bring insights to the issues women face, at all stages of life.
