Police: Domestic violence preceded Anchorage shooting

ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police say the two people involved in a fatal shooting had a history of domestic violence.

Police say Toua Vang, a 50-year-old man, shot and killed Chou Moua, a 50-year-old female, Wednesday.

Police say the shooting happened in a strip mall parking lot, and Vang had parked behind the woman's car, preventing her from leaving.

Police say he walked up to her car, shot her and then apparently shot himself. Moua died from her injuries, and Vang was transported to a hospital.

Police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker says their investigation shows the couple had a relationship marred by domestic violence.
