Rebecca Sakarias and Brant Oliphant were recently named to the Dean's Honor List for fall quarter at Southern Oregon University.

Justin Santos recently joined the Navy's Delayed Entry Program for guaranteed training in the Aviation Machinist's Mate Program. Santos will report for active duty in March, attending basic training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

Daniel James Fagnant and Andrea L. Corso were named to the president's list for fall semester at Gonzaga University.

Kerry Scott Finley and Robin Fiscus were named to the academic Dean's and Freshman Honor Roll for fall semester at University of Wyoming.

Marlon A. Lumbab recently joined the Navy's Delayed Entry Program for guaranteed training in the Aviation Machinist's Mate Program. Lumbab will report for active duty in June, attending basic training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

Garrett L. Grant recently joined the Navy's Delayed Entry Program for guaranteed training in the Aviation Support Equipment Technician Program. Grant will report for active duty in June, attending basic training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

Ryan Johnson is participating in Chatham College's Sophomore Interim Abroad Program in Belize during the month of January. The program, in its 10th year, allows all sophomores, regardless of major, to participate in a study abroad program organized and led by the faculty.

Jesse K. Winnen, of Juneau, and Casey J. Campbell, of Sitka, were named to the Honor Roll for fall semester at Linn-Benton Community College.

Angeline Edge, a student at the University of Alaska Southeast, is the recipient of Soroptimist of Juneau's $500 Women's Achievement Award, which goes to help a local woman improve her economic situation through education and training. She is a mother of two studying full-time with the help of grants and a scholarship.

Christopher R. Hall of Juneau has joined the Navy for training in the Air Traffic Control Program. He will report for duty in February at the Recruit Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill.

Raini Reynolds of Juneau won first place for students in grades 4-6 in the "My Community" art and poetry contest in Alaska, sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Students were asked to submit work focusing on communities and traditional ways of life in rural Alaska.

Hilary Martin of Juneau has been named to Whitworth College's Laureate Society for the fall semester of 2000. Students must have at least a 3.75 grade-point average to qualify.

Erika Carls of Juneau was named to the Dean's List at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., for the fall 2000 semester.

Matthew J. DuBois has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

Jack Gray of Juneau has been named to the Dean's List at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, for the fall 2000 quarter.
