JUNEAU - The fifth annual Alaska College Goal Sunday will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Jan. 31, at Thunder Mountain High School.
Parents and students are encouraged to bring their 2008 tax returns, their 2009 tax documents and their laptop computers and come prepared to clear this daunting hurdle to college financing.
Students can speed up their Alaska College Goal Sunday activities by going online to apply for a federal personal identification number (PIN) in advance at www.pin.ed.gov, and reviewing the required documents at www.alaskacollegegoalsunday.org.

In addition to College Goal Sunday, UAS is hosting several other sessions to help students complete their applications for financial aid:
Applying for federal student aid and scholarships - 3 p.m. Feb. 3 and 10 a.m. Feb. 9 at UAS Egan Library, Room 105.
Applying for federal student aid - 4 p.m. Feb. 18 at UAS Egan Library, Room 105.
An expert will be available to help students apply for federal financial aid and scholarships for technical school or college. All income levels and ages welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring their family tax return and W-2 to any event.
