ANCHORAGE — Five Anchorage officials, including Mayor Dan Sullivan, are going to hop on their dog sleds behind three-dog teams and compete for charity.

The Feb. 12 race at Tozier Track is intended to raise thousands of dollars for charity.

The winner of the so-called Top Dog Charity Sled Dog Race will be able to designate $10,000 from Exxon Mobil to a charity of choice. The runner-up will get $4,000 for charity, and each finisher after that will receive money in diminishing amounts for charity.

Other racers include the fire chief, the police chief, parks and recreation development director and the assistant municipal attorney.
