A Juneau man grabbed the steering wheel of his girlfriend’s car Saturday night, causing a crash on Egan Drive, according to a release from the Juneau Police Department.
The man and woman were arguing while she was driving on Egan Drive inbound at about 9 p.m., the release states. The man’s actions caused the woman to lose control of the car and crash with both a retaining wall and a concrete barrier.
The man fled the scene. JPD later found him in the Channel Vista area. He was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence and taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center after being medically cleared at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
The woman suffered minor injuries to her knee and ribs, but declined treatment at the scene.
