Malinda Mosher, a 2007 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, made the dean's list for the first quarter at Yakima Valley Community College. The daughter of Beth Mosher, of Juneau, she a freshman.
Mark Speece, associate professor of marketing at the University of Alaska Southeast, received the Harold T. Caven Professorship from the University of Alaska Foundation. The two-year professorship includes a $20,000 award intended to enable Speece to perform activities and projects designed that enhance the field of business and finance at the University of Alaska beyond those associated with his faculty assignments.
Speece's proposed activities include researching customer needs for small and medium enterprises as well as examining financial e-services for rural Alaska.
This professorship was established in 1974 with a gift from Loretta Caven, widow of Harold T. Caven. Harold was a longtime Alaskan who first came to the state in 1943. He served as a director and as a vice president of the First National Bank of Anchorage.
John Allen, of Juneau, was named to the fall semester dean's list at Huntingdon College, in Montgomery, Ala. Allen is the son of Bill and Vinessa Allen, of Juneau.
