JUNEAU - The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development is accepting proposals for remaining 2010 State Training and Employment Program funds.
STEP is funded through employee contributions to Alaska's unemployment insurance trust fund and invests in job training projects.
Proposals must be received by March 1 to be considered for funding for the state fiscal year that ends June 30. Proposals will be evaluated and awards made in March. Proposed training schedules should have a start date no earlier than April 1 and must be complete by June 30.
The department's Division of Business Partnerships and AWIB are also accepting proposals for training projects that will take place in the state fiscal year that begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2011.
