FAIRBANKS — An Alaska woman has been charged with shooting at her sister and endangering three children at a birthday party.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports that 52-year-old Jean Marlene Tritt of Nenana was charged with two felonies, assault and misconduct involving weapons, as well as six misdemeanors, including criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
Alaska State Troopers said 51-year-old Marion Peter hid in the bathroom and dialed 911 on her cell phone.
According to charging documents, Tritt allegedly fired two shots at the door with a .44 Magnum, which missed her sister.
Authorities said Tritt then broke Peter’s cell phone — valued at $300 — preventing her from talking to dispatch.
Troopers said both women were intoxicated when they arrived Saturday night. The birthday party was for a young child of Tritt’s.
