A Juneau man who had previously been convicted of a sex offense was arrested Sunday afternoon on one count of second-degree indecent exposure, according to records from the Juneau Police Department.
JPD arrested Urban Anson Cleveland, 51, in the 100 block of Marine Way and took him to Lemon Creek Correctional Center, according to the release. He was also charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
Cleveland was convicted for second-degree sexual assault in 2002 in Kotzebue, according to information found on the Alaska Department of Public Safety’s website. Alaska statutes require people convicted of second-degree sexual assault to be registered for life on the sex offender registry. However, the registry lists Cleveland as “out of compliance with the registration requirements.”
