Juneau resident Mary Darlene Sharpnack, 56, died Jan. 30, 2006, at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau, after a long illness.
Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, at the Alaska Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Lee Dutson and Harold Gene Peterson.
She was born May 23, 1949, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She spent seven years in Juneau and worked as a playland attendant at Fred Meyer. She also attended Glacier Valley Church of God.
Family members said, "Mary was dearly loved by a whole community of people whose lives she touched, each in a personal and unique way. Her job a Fred Meyer playland attendant gave her opportunity to touch hundreds more members of her community. Mary was a dedicated caregiver to her mother, a loving sister to her only brother Richard and sister-in-law Suzanne, as well as Regan, Jan-Marie and Erin. Mary cherished her relationship with her nieces and nephews. She spent the majority of her life dedicated to loving and caring for her family and friends. Mary loved the beauty of living in Juneau."
She is preceded in death by her husband Theron Sharpnack.
She is survived by her mother, Lily Stemple; father, Richard Dutson; stepmother, Beverly Dutson; brother, Richard Dutson; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Dutson, Regan Tweedy, Jan-Marie Bearfield and Erin Heywood; nephews, James LeBlanc, Anges LeBlanc, Isidor LeBlanc, Zachary Heywood and Adrian Heywood; nieces, Elizabeth DeMunck, Kristen Dutson and Cassandra Heywood; other family members, Louise Seligmann, Bryant Bearfield, Harold Peterson, Burn Thompson, Mia Schiff.
