Billie Jo Triplette

Juneau resident Billie Jo Secrist Triplette, 63, died Jan. 27, 2006, in Juneau.

She was born Dec. 5, 1942, in Wenatchee, Wash. She moved to Juneau with her parents, Bud and Florence Phelps in 1944.

Family members said, "Billie Jo was a lifelong resident of Juneau who loved Alaska and its abundant wildlife."

She spent many hours rehabilitating and caring for wild birds and animals, and creating an elaborate garden at her Sunny Point home. She died at home with her family after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Triplette of Juneau; daughters, Elizabeth "Lisa" Fletcher of Moscow, Idaho, and Gwen Runyan of Eagle, Idaho; granddaughters, Cassidy and Hallie Runyan of Eagle, Idaho; mother, Florence Phelps Rossiter of Juneau; and sisters, Carmen Engen of Juneau and Darlene Stutte of Portland.
