DeHarts Boat Yard to switch hands

JUNEAU - The Juneau Docks and Harbors Board on Thursday picked Juneau Marine Services to take over DeHarts boat yard lease.

Four offers were made to run the Auke Bay boat repair and cleaning facility with a 15-ton Travelift boat hoist, but Juneau Marine was the most qualified, said Port Director John Stone.

"They run the downtown service," he said.

The city will fold the boat yard lease into Juneau Marine's current downtown lease, allowing it to operate for 10 years.
