JUNEAU - About 370,000 Alaskans applied online last month for their share of the state's oil wealth, officials said.
The deadline for filing to qualify for the first direct deposit of this year's Permanent Fund Dividend was midnight Thursday night. About 370,000 Alaskans applied by then, said Amy Skow of the Permanent Fund Dividend Division.
That compares with 331,000 last year.
The first direct deposit will be made Oct. 2.
Alaskans can qualify for the second direct deposit Oct. 16 by applying online or submitting a paper application by March 31.
