AKPIRC seeks nominations for parent award

Posted: Thursday, February 03, 2011

This spring the Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center (AKPIRC) will honor an Alaskan parent who sets the standard for parent engagement, both at home and at school.

The parent chosen for this honor will receive the Partners in Learning Award, $250 for books or resources for the school library or family resource room and an all-expense-paid trip to the Alaska Bilingual Multicultural Education/Equity Conference in Anchorage in April, including travel, meal allowance, hotel, and conference registration fee.

A parent can be nominated by the principal or other member of the school staff and must follow the guidelines established by AKPIRC. To nominate a parent, see http://www.akpirc.org. Nominations must be received by March 15.

AKPIRC is part of the Southeast Regional Resource Center, a statewide education resource center.
