A good team effort led the boys to a 68-35 victory Friday over North Pole. Eleven of the 13 players scored in the game. Will Egolf led the scoring with 14 points and Dom Brinson and Robert Beierly each scored 10.
Right before the half, Will Egolf, on the break, dunked over the head of the tallest opponent. He shot from outside the key. Coach Steve Potter said it was his "best dunk of the year".
On Saturday the Bears defeated Lathrop, the top team in Fairbanks, 83-59. Will Egolf was once again the lead scorer with 17 points. Robert Beierly had 12, Cameron Cook scored 10 and Dom Brinson and Clae Baker both scored 9.
"It was a good team effort that was hard fought," Potter said. "Twelve of the 13 guys scored Saturday night". Potter said Lathrop applied pressure, but the Bears "had been working on their press break which led to some easy baskets."
"It was a good trip. We're on a roll now and hopefully we can keep up the momentum until West Valley comes to Juneau," Potter said.
