Conchita Garcia Capada passed away on Feb. 2, 2011, in the Philippines. She was 73. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Conchita had touched in some small way throughout her life.
She was a long-time Juneau resident. She was born July 4, 1937, in Samar, Philippines, and moved to Juneau with her late husband Estaban B. Capada and their children in February 1993.
“To many, Conchita’s life would seem too short, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her wonderful smile and love brought so much joy to her family and friends,” her family wrote.
Conchita, along with her husband devoted their time and energy to their children and grandchildren. She loved to dance, sing karaoke, socialize, and enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She was an active member of Twin Heart of Jesus & Mary Charismatic Prayer Group.
Conchita is preceded in death by her husband Estaban B. Capada.
She is survived by her children, Dan and wife Joann Capada, and their children; Erlinda and husband Roly Padura and their children; Grace and husband Joemer Gonzales and their children, of Juneau; Leonor and husband Rey Beltran, and their children, of San Diego, Calif.; Teresita Iguis and her children; Melanie and husband, JR Matic, and their children; and Rosemarie and husband Thaddeus Limenzon, and their children.
