ANCHORAGE - A federal court judge has sentenced an Anchorage man to five years in prison for manufacturing or distributing crack cocaine.

Forty-five-year-old Derek Lamont Elliott was sentenced to 60 months Friday by U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Burgess.

Prosecutors said Elliott processed powder cocaine into crack cocaine and provided it to a co-defendant who sold it to a government informant. They said the amount of crack cocaine in the transaction was 12.1 grams.
