"Kids Day at the Glacier: Light of Night," a kids program about northern lights for children ages 7-12, 11 a.m.-noon, Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.

"Walrus Island: Through a Caretaker's Eyes," biologist Polly Hessing tells stores and shows slides about spending five summers on remote, treeless Round Island in Bristol Bay at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, part of the Forest Service Fireside Chat series, free.
