The status of Alaska and Pacific Northwest ski areas include:

Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau: Platter, Ptarmigan and Hooter lifts operate about 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday through Monday and 9a.m.-9 p.m. Friday. Tubing hill is open 4-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Eaglecrest is reporting 2 inches of new snow in the past 72 hours. The base at the day lodge is 41 inches and 137 inches is reported at the top. Snow conditions are soft, smooth packed powder.

Runs groomed today are Easy Bowl, Williwaw, Otter Slide, Inside Passage, Cheechako, Sluice Box, Spruce Chute, Ego, Sneaky, Trickster, Sourdough, Muskeg and Dolly Varden.

For Nordic skiers, the Upper Nordic trail was trackset Sunday and the Lower Loop was trackset today. The Hilda and Troy loops will be trackset on the weekend. A series of telemark clinics start at 1-4 p.m. Sunday and run afternoons through February. Call 790-2001 for details.

Snowmachine trails, Juneau: The Dan Moller-Treadwell Ditch trail system above West Juneau and the Lake Creek Trail off Back Loop Road are open to snowmachine and ATV use. Call the U.S. Forest Service, 586-8800, for details.

Nordic ski trails, Juneau: Cross-country ski trails at the Mendenhall Campground, Mendenhall Lake and Dredge Lakes area were set Sunday by the Juneau Nordic Ski Club.
