The public is invited to attend the "Salmon for Success Summit" Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 10-12, at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall in downtown Juneau. The summit is hosted by the Tlingit Haida Central Council, the Southeast Intertribal Fish and Wildlife Commission, and the Southeast Conference.
Municipal leaders will report on the status of the salmon industry in their communities, seafood processors will address prospects for the future, and government officials will discuss efforts being made to confront the economic challenges confronting the industry.
A panel discussion on farmed versus wild salmon Monday afternoon is expected to generate interest.
