I would like to encourage the people of Juneau to see the latest show at Perseverance Theatre, "Working." It is a musical adaptation of the book of the same name by writer, Studs Terkel. It features the voices and stories of blue-collar workers, and celebrates the diversity and dignity of people engaged in everyday jobs: steelworkers, waitresses, firefighters, grocery clerks and others. For most of the cast this is their first time on stage. I saw the show two weeks ago and thought they all did an excellent job. I applaud their great energy and commitment to this unique production.
The show ends Feb. 16. I hope people will make the effort to attend the show and support this celebration of America's often-unsung heroes.
