The Akiyama Family Fund granted the Alaska Youth Choir $4,090, which will be used to provide scholarships and encourage youth participation in the choir. Recognized as a Juneau Community Foundation Honorary Philanthropist, Dr. Akiyama continues his generous support of the choir. The mission of the fund is to provide children with limited family incomes an opportunity to join the Alaska Youth Choir.

Additionally, the JSL Group Fund granted the Alaska Youth Choir $500 for general support. The JSL Group comprises Peter Jurasz, Doug Scudder, and Brian Lingle, all of Merrill Lynch, and is thrilled to support local arts organizations, such as the Alaska Youth Choir, and continue to function as part of Juneau's philanthropic community.

Lastly, the Juneau Community Fund granted the Alaska Youth Choir $500 for general support. This fund was established by the Juneau Community Foundation Board of Directors to respond to the changing needs of the communities of Southeast Alaska by building permanent philanthropic capital through individual, corporate, and organizational donations.
