Jason Abbott, left, pauses Friday while reading an apology during his sentencing hearing in the Sitka Superior Courthouse in Sitka. Sitka Superior Court Judge David George sentenced Abbott, 20, to serve 140 years in prison for the March 2008 stabbings that left four people dead. He pleaded "guilty, but mentally ill" last year to two consolidated counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his grandparents Alice and John Abbott, his aunt, Elizabeth Abbott, and her friend, Charles Tate.
