Missy and Chip McMillan help their daughter, Adelie, 6, operate an underwater robot Saturday in the Extended Stay Hotel. Chip built the robot, called a SeaPerch, during a workshop Thursday and Friday. SeaPerch, a marine engineering education program, teaches students how to build an underwater robot and propulsion system, how to develop a controller and how to investigate weight and buoyancy.
