World Affairs Council to host talk on "The United States and Iran"

The Juneau World Affairs Council will host Dr. Nosratollah Rassekh to speak on "The United States and Iran" at 5:30 p.m. Monday at KTOO, on Whittier and Egan.

Born in Tehran, Iran, Rassekh is an expert on the Middle East and frequently speaks to professional and community groups on the Middle East conflict on topics such as terrorism, hostages, Islam, Bahai, Iran and Lebanon.

Rassekh, a retired professor of history at Lewis and Clark College, was selected by the Hoover Institute of Stanford University as a "prominent educator and an expert in Iranian studies" and was invited to submit materials documenting his years of service as history professor to the Hoover Library's Hanna Collection on Educational Materials. His extensive travels have taken him to Iran, India, Europe, Australia and the Canary Islands.
