Organization description: AWARE provides safe shelter, advocacy, education, and support for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse and community prevention/education on these issues.

Volunteer opportunities: AWARE is offering a Volunteer Advocacy Training session starting Feb. 12. This training includes information on domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse and provides practical experience in crisis intervention and advocacy skills. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to work with AWARE programs. Part One of the training is open to the public and offers an overview of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse and neglect. Part Two is for AWARE volunteers and staff and focuses on advocacy and crisis intervention skills. No experience is necessary.
