ANCHORAGE - Alaska State Troopers have released the names of two officers involved in the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old woman who was wielding a gun at a Wasilla clinic.

The troopers are identified as Alfred "Skip" Chadwell and Kevin S. Blanchette. Both work out of the Palmer post.

Troopers said Debra L. Torrey of Wasilla was shot Tuesday evening after refusing to drop the gun and making threatening statements and motions at the medical facility at mile 8 of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway.

Torrey died at the scene after troopers fired their weapons.

Department policy requires officers involved in a shooting be placed on administrative leave.
