I agree with Janet Kussart on her letter about who is actually going to foot the bill for a road out of Juneau. Seems like the government won't when listening to President Bush's big speech a couple of days ago on his plans to cut back on health care benefits and pensions.
It is hard enough when the state does not take care of its own employees who have not had a salary increase over several years. Food and bills have gone up, but not the salaries that state employees have to fight for through legislation each time.
The road out of Juneau is a dead plan with no means of supporting for the next several years from now. If the state cannot take care of its own workers, how can they take care of the road out of Juneau?
