Lia Gladstone will lead a presentation about the year she spent in Afghanistan this Tuesday at the Northern Light United Church, sharing stories and images of the people she encountered there. Her talk begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the church, located at 400 W. 11th St.
Gladstone was formerly the director for Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Juneau, and also previously worked for the Alaska Legislature and Alaska Public Radio. She received her masters in fine arts from New York University’s Tisch Shool of the Arts in 2005. She is also a playwright; her play, “Children of the Far Away” was based on a trip to Micronesia.
