ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police say a 9-year-old boy was bitten in the face by the family’s pit bull dog in a truck as the boy’s father was driving.
Police say the dog had a chew toy at the time Tuesday, but the attack was unprovoked.
KTUU reports the boy was stitched up in the emergency room at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Anchorage Animal Care and Control spokeswoman Brooke Taylor says dogs can become particularly defensive when eating, napping or playing with a favorite toy.
