Letter: Right to work

Posted: Sunday, February 11, 2001

I, as an employee, currently do not have the right to seek employment at most, if not all, union shops in Alaska. I have been told that many times, while out-of-state workers were hired. As an employer, I do not have the right to hire who I want in a union shop. I must take what the union sends me. The employee basically works for the unions, not the employer.

This needs to change. Level the playing field and put more Alaskans to work in Alaska. Support "Right To Work" legislation.
