Ex-ferry head brought his expertise to job
You may agree or disagree with how former state Sen. Robin Taylor handled his job as head of the Alaska Marine Highway System. Nevertheless, he brought to the job his expertise.

As state senator, he was a staunch supporter of the marine highway, and, at the same time, favored building a road out of Juneau. He thus supported Juneau residents on both issues.
His 20 years in the Legislature resulted in being knowledgeable on various issues relating to Southeast Alaska. Juneau Sen. Kim Elton's arrogant and out-of-place remark in Wednesday's Juneau Empire was uncalled for. Robin and his wife, Kay, are good neighbors and friends. He always has been a staunch supporter of Juneau and in keeping the capital here.
Elton has no problem kicking a man when he is down.
