UAF students pay $20 'green' fee

FAIRBANKS - Students at the University of Alaska Fairbanks are paying a new fee of $20 a semester to promote sustainability on campus.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports the money may go to recycling and conserving energy and projects suggested by a student advisory board. Over 10 years the "green" fee could raise nearly $5 million.
