KENAI — A Soldotna fugitive has been arraigned on 10 charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.
Alaska State Troopers say 40-year-old Kevin Patterson was arrested Dec. 30 in Mexico City and transported to Dallas, where he waived extradition to Alaska.
The Peninsula Clarion reports Patterson had been convicted in Minnesota of child endangerment and possession of child pornography. He was living in Alaska on an adult probation interstate compact transfer.
His Alaska probation officer in 2009 reported that Patterson may have been violating conditions of release. Investigators discovered evidence of child pornography on his computers, including 1,204 images of Patterson’s Minnesota victims.
Investigators say he was charged with failure to register as a sex offender in June 2009 but jumped bail and fled.
