Bringing sugar down

Posted: Wednesday, February 12, 2003

Rep. Kapsner just introduced a bill that would ban the sale of drinks that have more than 42 grams of sugar on school grounds. Thanks! The bill is very intelligent, understanding that good education includes a healthy body, and it's currently hard for today's over-busied schoolers to run on the fumes of sugar and caffeine.

Let's get thinking about education, and this is a start. As much as one-fourth of a high-schoolers caloric intake is from soda pop. That is sad and dangerous. Someone who is stocked on sugar not only is at risk to obesity, heart disease and diabetes, running on sugar leaves us with less patience and brain power, and more stress. Thanks, Rep Kapsner.
